Policies and Dress Code

All female students are required to wear a solid black leotard for all classes (no stripes or decals). Please NO prints, stripes, patterns or florals. No two-piece dancewear is acceptable.  A solid black leotard enables the teacher to properly see the lines of the body. Ballet students may wear a sheer black ballet skirt if desired.  Tights should be worn and may be black, light pink, white or tan.

Male students are required to wear solid black shirts and solid black dance pants or shorts.

Hip hop students may wear dance pants and a t-shirt over their leotard.

Sweatshirts, sweatpants, headscarves and other apparel may not be worn during any classes .

Required shoes include:

     Ballet - pink ballet shoes
     Jazz - tan jazz oxfords
Tap (pre-school - 3rd grade) tan buckle tap shoes
Tap (4th grade - adult) tan jazz tap
Hip-hop Bop or Jam - tan jazz oxfords
     Hip-hop - black dance sneakers

There is a registration fee of $25 per class. This fee is non-refundable but will be applied toward dance costumes for the dance production if the student dances for the entire year.

All students should attend each lesson and be properly dressed.  Dancers are strongly encouraged to wear their hair in a low ballet bun for all dance classes.  Hair must be pulled away from the face and off the neck.  Any student who is not dressed properly may not be permitted to dance with the class.

Please notify the dance school if you are unable to attend a class. Any student who misses five or more lessons after January 1st,  may not be permitted to perform in the dance production. We would like for all students to participate in the dance production for the theatrical experience of their dance education; however, it is strictly optional.

In the unlikely event of a class cancellation as a result of adverse weather conditions, dance class cancellations will be posted on our website home page and broadcast on WSBT.com, WSBT television station and WSBT affiliates.  If you have registered to receive Lee Anne Stewart updates, you will receive an email if the dance studio is closed.  If you would like to receive free email updates, there is a registration link on our home page.  You may also call the dance school at 877-658-9875 for information.
